Dr. Penny Ballem, former Deputy Ministry of Health, British Columbia
Over the last 22 years, Dr. Ballem has been a health administrator, an advisor to health policy-makers, both provincially and nationally, and a practicing academic physician.  Most recently, Dr. Ballem was the Deputy Minister of Health for British Columbia and was responsible for leading the transformation of the health services across British Columbia.  She is a frequently sought after speaker on health systems, health policy, and women’s health.  She has published widely, and she is the recipient of several awards for her work in eduction, research and advocacy in women’s health.

Dr. Alan Hudson, Lead, Access to Care Initiative, Ontario
Dr. Hudson has demonstrated his leadership capabilities in several roles, including Chair of the Division of Neurosurgery at the University of Toronto, CEO of University Health Network, CEO of Cancer Care Ontario, and currently in his role as Lead of Access to Services and Wait Times for the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.  Dr. Hudson’s achievements have been recognized nationally as he received The Order of Canada in 2000.

Mr. Richard Alvarez, CEO, Canada Health Infoway
As President and CEO, Richard C. Alvarez is responsible for providing overall direction and leadership for Canada Health Infoway’s activities.  Formerly the President and CEO of CIHI, he lead the evoluation of CIHI from an organization focused on warehousing data, to one that disseminates relevant policy materials and has strong links with the research community.
